Post subject:  Where is replmon in Windows 2008?

Hi all.

I suddenly have a need to use replmon on my Windows 2008 network but can't find it to download. Does it exist for Windows 2008? It's not installed with the OS (I've noticed that ADSI Edit is). Can I download Support Tools for Windows 2008?

Thanks.

To the best of my knowledge replmon doesn't exist for Windows 2008. I am aware of people installing the Windows 2003 Support Tools on Windows 2008 to use replmon but I haven't tried it myself.

I actually tried installing it before you replied and it works fine. Although I find it strange they've discontinued something so useful. I bet loads of people will be looking for it.

When you confige AD DS on your Windows Server 2008 server, it automatically installs Advanced Tools. You can find them under the AD DS role in the Server Manager.
However, these tools don't include replmon.exe. But it is possible to download the Windows Server 2003 Support Tools .msi file and install it on a 2008 server. I've tested out the Replmon tool on 2008 and it worked flawless.
