Hi, i just wanna ask this problem of mine.
when my client joining to my server domain, it failed. it said that "A domain controller for the domain mydomain.com could not be contacted."
The error was: "No DNS servers configured for local system."
(error code 0x0000267C DNS_ERROR_NO_DNS_SERVERS)

anyone can help?

Do you use DHCP on the network or do you assign static IPs? If they are static, add the DNS servers to TCP/IP properties of the network card on the workstation then try again. If you use DHCP then make sure it assigns the DNS servers (which should be the IP address of the DNS server on your network).

If you open a command prompt on the workstation and run the following command then it should show the server address as the primary DNS server:

ipconfig /all

If not, that's the problem. Let us know how you get on.

Dave

You could also run the following commands on the server to make sure everything is in order...

netdiag

dcdiag

i used static IP. i already changed my dns server ip using my server ip.
Now client can join domain, but i have to insert my server ip into prefered dns server.
is there any way so that i don't have to fill it? i mean Automatic.

and there is another problem, after succeeding join domain, now my client cannot login.
what should i configure in my server? i already create user in active directory though

If you want to allocate IP addresses, gateways and DNS servers automatically then you need to install DHCP server. Once configured it will do all that for you.

When the user logs on, have you selected the domain from the drop-down list as opposed to the local computer?
