 Post subject: ERROR: NO DNS servers for IPV6 stack was found

when i run dcdiag /test:dns on my windows 2008 domain controller i get this error:

i don't want to use ipv6 but if i turn it off the server stops working properly. is there anything i can do about this?

Hi.

If you don't need to use IPV6 then you probably don't need to worry about that error. I guess your DNS servers are only listening for IPV4 requests. In the DNS Manager look under the server properties (on the interfaces tab) if it's listening on the IPV4 and IPV5 addresses.

In the dcdiag output are there any other errors? Are there any DNS related errors in the eventlog?
