Hiya.

I keep getting this error when launching a virtual server in Hyper-V Manager:

Quote:
The connection to the virtual machine was lost. This can occur when a virtual machine stops unexpectedly, or when network problems occur. Try to connect again. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator.

There doesn't seem to be any reason why, it's almost as if they run fine when left alone but as soon I need to access it to change something the guest OS reboots.

Any advice welcome!

Is is the only virtual server running? Do you have others running, and do they do the same? If it's one of many, and the only one with this problem, then I'd check the event logs on the guest OS to see why it's rebooting. You could also try setting it to not reboot when a stop error occurs. It doesn't sound like an issue with the host OS or Hyper-V itself.

I have about 12 virtual servers on the one box and about 3 or 4 of them do it randomly. Some have never done it.

That's a good suggestion and I've tried that but only one of the boxes actually blue screened, with an IRQ NOT LESS OR EQUAL message. The others just rebooted without a blue screen or anything. Nothing in the event log.

I think that blue screen is down to the ram, so I may change that as a test. The others are still confusing though!
