Has anybody used ISAPI_Rewrite with IIS on 2008? I'm trying to use it with CMSMS for seo friendly urls but it just doesn't seem to work. I think it's setup properly, I followed the instructions.

Hi Byron.

Assuming you are referring to Helicon Tech's ISAPI_Rewrite, I have not used this on IIS7. I tried to set it up once on Windows 2003 with IIS6 and failed too. Instead I use IIRF by CodePlex and this works like a dream (and it's free).

When I come to migrate these sites to IIS7 I'll start by trying Microsoft's URL Rewrite Module which looks pretty good. In fact, I'll add a link to this in the Useful Links forum.

Hope this helps!
Dave

P.S. Come back to tell us how you get on and which solution worked for you

I'll give the M$ one a go. Shame they had to release it afterwards as an add-one. Why don't they include these things to start with? Apache has had this functionality for years. Typical M$ to be a few steps behind the rest.
